ConsignmentsConsigning is a quick and easy way to get a little money for items you no longer need or want. The Nearly New Shop accepts “gift quality” items for consignment. Clothing should be in excellent condition, current style, clean, pressed, and in season. Non-clothing items should be in good repair, clean, and free of dust and dirt The Nearly New Shop is a large consignment store in which all profits go toward funding the outreach programs of Saint Ann’s Episcopal Church. It has a novel color coded pricing system. At the end of the initial color period (about two weeks), a 25% markdown is taken. After the next two weeks, 50%; after the following two weeks, 75%. After the final two weeks, the item is considered a donation. Be on the lookout for these color coded tags FOR MAXIMUM SAVINGS!! Articles not accepted:Please refer to contract or click here for a complete listing. Men’s and Children’s clothing (donation only) Wigs, curling irons or curlers. Used pantyhose, socks, bathing suits, undergarments (except slips), Fabric of any kind. Used electronics, telephones/cameras. Chipped or cracked china or glassware. Slip covers, draperies, wallpaper, window shades, blinds or curtain rods. Sporting goods. Luggage. Belts from other garments. Books, records, ashtrays. FTD or Telefora vases or baskets. Typewriters, computers/software. Children’s toys, games furniture, crib bumpers, or baby bottles. Terms & Conditions:Consignor receives 50% of sale proceeds at each quarter’s end. A $5.00 processing fee will be deducted quarterly from consignor earnings. The Nearly New Shop reserves the right to price all items, have periodic sales, reject any item and assumes no responsibility for loss or damage to any item. Once priced the following applies: prices will be reduced in accordance with our color-coded markdowns. At the end of the initial color period (this can be from 1 day to 2 weeks) a 25% markdown is taken; after the next 2 weeks, 50%; after the next 2 weeks, 75%. At this point an item is considered a donation. Intake forms are available at the shop. A completed WHITE form MUST accompany EACH group of clothing, a complete GREEN form MUST accompany EACH box of items and a completed BLUE form MUST accompany each batch of jewelry. Please fill out these forms at home (see our website to download forms.) All items must be valued over $5, otherwise considered a donation. No phone calls will be made to inform you of missioned items. Twice weekly, a consignor may bring 15 clothing items and 15 boxed items. All clothing must be in current style, good condition, cleaned, pressed and on hangers. Each item should be thoroughly examined for stains and discoloration. Please pay attention to: “spill area” on front, “seat” area on back, “personal areas” underarm, elbow, collars, cuffs and hems, animal hair and oder.
All non-clothing items must be clean. Kitchen appliances must be in good working order. Batteries must be included with all battery operated items, including watches, otherwise items will be passed to our mission or considered a donation. Once an item is brought in for consignment it becomes the property of The Nearly New Shop and may not be taken back by the consignor. Checks will be available quarterly for pick up (in the shop) to consignors ho have accumulated more than $5 in their account within 2 weeks after the quarter closes. The balance is mailed at the year’s end. We encourage the consignment and/or donation of small furniture and items of home decoration. |
